How an ERV system functions

An ERV uses site-recovered energy from building exhaust air (usually wasted to the atmosphere) to precondition fresh outdoor air for temperature and humidity, dramatically reducing building energy costs. Preconditioning reduces workload on the heating and cooling system, reducing energy demand for treating outdoor air by up to 90%.
